Pittsburgh Musical Theater presents The Little Mermaid with Larissa Overholt, who plays Ariel, and Brady Patsy, who plays her father, King Triton. With music director Francesca Tortorello, who is the wife of PSO cellist Michael de Bruyn. Larissa and Francesca perform live in the studio.

Chamber Music Pittsburgh with Pittsburgh Performs presents Anqwenique, Kinetic and Joe Sheehan, composer and pianist who teaches at Duquesne University in Songs of Lake Volta at the Shop in Homewood Thursday 22 at 7pm. Joe who has traveled widely in Ghana over a number of years and Anqwenique who works for Pittsbugh Festival Opera and sang recently at Heinz Hall preview their new cd and the concert with Joe’s music performed by Kinetic and the Kassia Ensemble.

Sasha Boldachev makes his Pittsburgh Debut in a concert for the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American harp Society Sunday afternoon February 11 at 2:30 at City of Asylum on the North Side. He is playing a new harp from the Italian maker Salvi which has special electro acoustic properties. The harp world is more women than men but Sasha is loving it. Born in Leningrad and trained in Russia and Switzerland he is on an extensive US tour giving a master class at CAPA on Saturday afternoon and the concert Sunday. He has several cds on Itunes including his own arrangements tof classics and pop hits. He recently played on stage at the controversial debut of the ballet Nureyev at the Bolshoi Theater which upset some factions of the Russian government. The Director of the ballet is still in jail. Sasha talks it over with Jim Cunningham on his way to Pittsburgh.
