Ben Locher and Paul Fireman - Sep 13, 2018

Ben Locher and Paul Fireman of Fireman Creative in Point Breeze encourages you to take part in the .5Krun/walk/hobble/ride/crawl on Sunday September 16th at noon at Westinghouse Park raising awareness for the park and community where the George Westinghouse mansion once stood. The Taylor Allderdice Marching Band will play, an accordion virtuoso and puppeteer will be there with prizes, and a victory party will take place at the Evergreen Lounge in Penn Avenue. A portion of the proceeds will go to purchase of park benches for Westinghouse Park. 

Chatham Baroque - 2018-2019 Season - Sep 11, 2018

Big things are happening with Chatham Baroque - they have an exciting 2018-2019 season; plus, they are now running Renaissance and Baroque.  The members of the group, along with Executive Director Donna Goyak stopped by WQED-FM to talk about the plans for the new season.

Stephen Schultz - Sep 11, 2018

Conductor of the CMU Baroque Orchestra Stephen Schultz recorded the Bach Flute Sonatas with harpsichordist Jory Vinokur at the Skywalker Sound ranch in Marin County this year. He fills us in on he new disc and the plans for an upcoming concert with Chatham Baroque and his ensemble, his Beatles course at CMU and for Osher life long learning.

Maxwell King - "The Good Neighbor" - Aug 29, 2018

Pittsburgh Foundation CEO Maxwell King has written the first full biography of Fred Rogers , The Good Neighbor. He talks with Jim Cunningham about the book and the many facets of Fred Rogers philosophy and personality, details about the production of the programs at WQED, the music involved, Joanne Rogers friendship with conductor Christoph von Dohnanyi, the premiere of Amahl and the Night Visitors in 1951 with Fred at NBC as floor manager and much more. The book is available September 4 2018 with a launch party at the Heinz History Center.
